  •  Establish development teams to maximize resources

Our Mission

The mission of Chesney-Kleinjohn Housing, Inc. is to facilitate the development of affordable and accessible housing for people living with HIV/AIDS and other disabilities.

Company Profile

Chesney-Kleinjohn Housing, Inc. is committed to ensuring that Denver has adequate affordable housing for this special needs population.  To accomplish these goals we:

  •  Research all potential housing opportunities
  •  Work with people living with HIV to determine needs
  •  Work closely with service providers
  •  Develop the resources necessary to complete the project

Housing Development

  •  More than 25% of the HIV community is not living in adequate housing
  •  Stable living environments provide healing and health, allowing people to reenter the work force, return to the tax rolls and lead more productive lives
  •  80% of affordable HIV/AIDS housing has been developed by non-profit organizations

Resource Development and How You Can Help

Developing affordable housing take time, dedication and commitment.  It also takes funding.  While we were fortunate to have had the estates of Keith Chesney and Ray Kleinjohn as seed money for our first project, those funds were used toward development costs.  As the non-profit sponsor, we funded an additional $100,000 toward development costs.  To effectively move forward on the next project, it is necessary to replenish this seed money, while securing pre-development and equity funding for future projects.

Ways you can help:

  •  Make a tax deductible* contribution
  •  Encourage employer matching contributions
  •  Volunteer to serve on resource development and fundraising committees
  •  Lend professional expertise
  •  Educate friends and associates of this pressing need

* Contributions deductible to the extent of the law.
